Notes from the Kindy/Pre-Primary room

As the second term of the school year grows to an end, it is time to reflect and take stock of the whirlwind of a Kindy/Pre-Primary classroom. It can be funny, stressful and chaos all rolled into one. But despite it all, ups and downs I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. It is sad to because I am going on long service leave next term, and so I say Adieu to the classroom life for just a little while. I am looking forward to stepping back and just being me, not Miss Sanders for just a short space of time.

We have a colourful classroom full of the work the students have done themselves and I more than love to display it all for them. I can not wait to see the Parent’s and Carer’s come next week and see the classroom filled to the brim with their child’s work. A few visiting Grandparents have expressed delight in the classroom setup which makes me feel rather chuffed indeed.

The term has been full of learning letters and numbers as well as Noongar words too. All the Kindy’s have shot up and lost their toddler appearance, I can not believe these were only 3 year olds when they started Kindy back in February. They have almost mastered writing names and numbers, as well as being more capable with using scissors and gluing. I love the way these children at this age are like little sponges and just soak up whatever you teach them to do.

As our last day of term 2 draws to a close. I realize that I will miss these students when on long service leave, but can’t wait to see what amazing things they will get up to. And I will always be Miss Sanders to them and all of my previous students.

Ciao for now Kitty-Kat xox And hope you have a great day xox
