It’s funny the older I get the more I look back at my life, especially my childhood/teenage years in the 1980s/1990s. And now with Stranger Things such a big hit at the moment, everything 80’s is back again. I am such a music consumer, new as well as old, but listening to 80s tunes takes me back to the exact moment I first heard the song.

High school I remember fondly even with the ups and downs it was about self-discovery and finding your groove in the world around you. Unfortunately, my high school no longer stands they pulled it down to build houses. But in my mind’s eye, I can see every room and hallway still picture perfect.

Now I feel a lot more in sync with that teenage self, maybe because I am now 51 years old and you start to look back rather than looking forward a lot more. Nostalgia is also a big part. However, I never look through rose tinted glasses, no warts, and all.

My life at the moment is going through changes, with some things the same and others, are different and painful, the ending of others as well forever. So only natural that I reflect backwards to other moments where my life changed a lot. So cue 80s music and fluoro colours because really no can not have the 80s without them.
