Today my kindys put together our NAIDOC display in our outdoor play area.We tied the laminated card that said: We show respect. We share the land. We walk together hand in hand. Then we tied wool around the base of the tree in the colours of the Indigenous flag. We also talked too the children about acceptance and belonging that everybody is welcome in our classroom. The kindys then put their hands that they decorated and I had laminated and put on a big popstick into the earth one by one. It was very sweet and they really were proud to have done it.
The other children in the play area Pre-primary stopped and looked at the display and wanted to know what it was about. Nobody has touched the hands which made me proud that they are respectful of the kindys work.
Here is the picture of the display I took after we had finished setting it up and I am so proud of the Kindys.
