Yes back to school after a lovely long weekend….it’s gonna be an interesting day that is for sure. Yesterday it got too 40°c here in sunny Perth, and I feel like I haven’t slept a wink. The temperature overnight has been rather hot, and it’s only after opening all windows in the house that it’s finally cooled down.
It will be good to see the kids again and see what things have been happening in their lives. Thank goodness the classroom has aircon because it’s going to be rather warm again today at about 35°c oh well Summer just wants to give us a little something to remember her by.
North of Perth there has been some horrid bushfires, so my prayers are with those people in the affected areas. Eastly winds have picked as well so hopefully they can contain the fire. I can never get over the fierceness of these fires, and think a lot about those firefighters who are out in them. We are so lucky here in Western Australia, to have such a dedicated volunteer fire brigade as we do, or else the state would be in a lot of trouble.
It was good to be able to simply laze about this weekend and I do not feel guilty at all for simply doing nothing. There is a lot to be said about that, just doing nothing at all, I feel like my mind is not foggy and I am fresh as a daisy you could say.
I know some people would say that I wasted my time over the long weekend, to them I say you really need to slow down yourself. Too many of us are living the fast lane lifestyle, and then simply crashing and burning , because it is too much to live that way indefinitely.
To me the price of my health and piece of mind mean more to me, than ending up burnt out and a wreck. I have burnt the candle at both ends throughout my early 20’s and even though it worked because I was younger and had more energy. It still isn’t something you should aspire too.
Anyway time to get ready to face the hoard of Kindys/Pre-Primary’s in my class, hope your Tuesday is wonderful.
Ciao

P.S; I am still working on some blog posts about other favourite childhood authors of mine, so stay tuned for those.
