I discovered these after completely reading all the Nancy Drew books I could find in my local library, and secondhand bookstores. I found a Trixie Beldon book in the library, and before I knew it I was hooked and started to read all of the books I could get my hands on.
Trixie Beldon series I think was liked by a lot of people in my generation. I know I loved them, because of the tomboy main character, she was who I wanted to be. They also were children who went on adventures, but with no inference by adults. They also solved mysteries and yes even got in trouble with parent’s. Trixie Beldon basicly lived the life I could only dream of and more.
I know they were written I think in the 50’s but even in the early 80’s they were extremely popular books. As you can see from my photo montage, care of Facebook, people still are reading and collecting the series. Doing the research for this blog post, I came across young adult readers reading Trixie Beldon books for the very first time. This so does my heart glad that some things never change, and that pieces of my childhood are still alive and well in this often high tech world.
Please share with me, if you too were a fan of the series as well ? I would be interested in your own stories about reading these books. Or in fact what were your favourite books growing up ?
Ciao for now
