Today was a lovely day to be outside, not too hot or cold and so many clouds on offer to see and wonder over. The kids at break time were talking about the clouds and saying what they reminded them of. We ended up agreeing that they were too high for rain, but were quite big nonetheless.

If you ever talked to four and five year olds, they can get pretty serious over the subject of clouds and anything else in general. I find them more fun to talk too than most adults if the truth be known. Children are frank and at the same time have that awesome sense of wonder like no other I have ever seen in my life. Today it was clouds, tomorrow it will be dump trucks and buses.

I sat with them at their eating time as well. And noticed all the big clouds we saw were gone. One of the children said to me as matter of fact, don’t worry Miss, the clouds have gone over there. They pointed to the north, where there was a big bank of clouds like we saw before. It opened up a huge discussion over clouds and how they moved about the sky so very fast. It made me smile, how they really see the world so simply, no tricks just star eyed wonder.

It makes me look at the clouds in a different light, although working with children as long as I have you start to see the world in a whole new light. I love it the way the children were seeing the clouds as people like them. Even having feelings like we do, I can’t wait till it gets rainy days of Winter, imagine what they will say ?

Enjoy the cloud photos and maybe look up every once in a while. You never know when a little wonder may come your way.
