Night time journaling

Night time journaling

I find that I am always creative late at night, and appear to do my best journaling at these times. Even as a child, I have always been a bit of an night owl you could say. And I have heard a lot of good writers work this way, at night, and into the wee small hours.

I find it hard to switch off my brain and settle down, unless I have done a little writing of some sort, before I even attempt to put my head on the pillow. It works well, although better at weekends and school holidays, not so much when you need to be up early the next morning for school. You really can not have the Kindy Education assistant AWOL because of not enough shut eye the night before.

Journaling at night leaves you fresh for the coming day ahead. It also means you start your day afresh, without any blemishes making a blot upon the days ahead. It seems to that my day needs to be relived again once more, to be clarified and accepted deep within myself.

It is also my way to chill out and relax after a busy day. My job relies on a lot of cognitive functioning and so it can leave me at the end of the day quite drained and listless in spirit and body. Night time journaling helps release these unwanted affects.

Adieu for now Kitty-Kat xox
