Today has been a really wet and sometimes blustery day and gone really cold so winter has finally arrived here in Perth.

I got assembly boards stripped off and ready for Pp/yr1 assembly coming up real soon. They are doing the song “Apples and Bananas ” and I made the lettering out of red, green and yellow card to stand out on our black boards. The kids collaged a giant red apple and yellow banana which I pinned onto the board and their work on healthy eating. I am really pleased with the result and the kids were all proud of themselves. So now it’s just making headbands for them to wear at the assembly and we are good too go.

Today I also was testing magic sight words and it is so good to hear these kids get better and better at their reading and sounding out. Most have improved in heaps and bounds, others are at where they should be. It is exciting to see and hear their progress and is one of the best parts of being an EA for sure.

We had some blue skies in between rain, but it was a really cold and windy day that the kids really likes too talk about. I was simply glad it was Friday and weekend was calling.
