This song has just came on the radio, I love the line “Tell me is it still raining there in England.” It always reminds me of my time living in England, and how hearing this song when I was younger planted the seed to go abroad and live in England. The song was by the group Little Heroes and I think it came out in 1980 there abouts.

I think of rainy days in Petworth the village I lived in and how they would have me singing this song, one perfect day. All my days in England weren’t perfect, but rambling all over the South Downs and seeing the beautiful countryside around you, certainly made it a perfect day. I also think the song reminds me of the homesickness and of thinking your family so faraway.

It makes me feel proud that I did it, moved to England as I always dreamed to do. It was probably one of the first times I realized you can make any dream come reality, if you really want it too.

And yes to answer the singer’s question, it is raining in England.
