Blackout journaling

Well last Friday we had a storm and lost power, it turned out to be a great time for me to journal, using my daylight lamp. I really enjoyed writing and felt that it was God’s way for me to stay off social media for awhile and simply write and read. Funny enough that is what happened and I ended up writing five pages in my journal and even when the power came back on I continued to write like this.

It was quiet as well, and you could only hear the wind, and a few rumbles of thunder here and there. It was magic and to me was like another world from the usual. It was a good way to spend a Friday night, and reminded me of childhood memories, when the power went out, and we would play games and do shadow puppet shows. You kinda of realize that the power going out isn’t such a bad thing to happen ?

For a bookworm like me, this is heaven, for when I was a kid I used to read by torchlight a lot of the time. When I should of been asleep tucked up in my bed, instead it would be one more page, one more chapter and till the end of the book. Happy times indeed and opened a world to the six years old me.

I felt too because the journal page had an old Victorian postcard, that it was harking back to days of old. Where they would be working by lamplight and in the dark around them. It was although a wet and stormy night, it was a lot of fun and not in the least boring at all.

Let me know in the comments if you like to journal by lamplight ?

Anyway ciao for now Kitty-Kat xox
